The first thing I noticed? Her eyes. Round and dark. Mysterious.
Her smooth skin glistened in the morning light as she stepped out of the water. She hesitated, allowing for an extra glimpse of her long, lean legs.
She was beyond gorgeous. I’m a sucker for freckles, and hers were magnificent.
She ran her tongue over her lips. I swear she winked at me.
I’d have given anything to hop over to her pad. We would have spent the day in the sun. Dipped in the pond. Shared a fly.
But that bird swooped down and snatched her in its beak. Her green foot the last I saw of her.
